Set your app and AI languages
Switch the interface between English, German and Chinese, and choose the language the AI writes your resumes, letters and emails in.
FirstResume keeps two language settings and they do not follow each other. One is the language of the menus and buttons; the other is the language the AI writes your resumes, cover letters and emails in. Read the app in English and have it write in German for a job in Berlin, if that suits you.
Both sit on the Language tab of Settings. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Account Settings, then Language.
Change the interface language
Pick English, Deutsch, 简体中文 or 繁體中文 on the Interface language row.
The page reloads as soon as you choose, so finish and save whatever you are working on before you switch.
Set the language the AI writes in
The AI response language row below offers the same four languages plus Auto (Detect from job description). Choosing here changes nothing about the interface.
Which to pick for the AI
Name a language when every application you are making is in it. Your documents then match each other whatever a posting looked like.
Choose Auto when you are applying across countries. The AI reads each job description and follows it, so a German posting gets German documents and an English one gets English. Where a posting is written in one language but you know the company works in another, name that language rather than leaving it to Auto.
For Hong Kong and Taiwan, pick 繁體中文; for mainland China, 简体中文. Check the row before a batch of applications, since it is easy to forget you switched it for a single job.
