Redeem a code or claim an offer

Turn a redemption code or a campaign offer into free Premium or Max time, and read the reasons an offer shows Not available instead.

A code someone gave you, or a campaign your email address qualifies for, becomes free time on Premium or Max in the Redemption Center tab of Settings.

Sign up through your university and there are no offers to see. The section is hidden, and your premium comes from your university's seats instead. See Get Premium through your university.

Enter a code

  1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Account Settings.
  2. Press Redemption Center in the left rail.
  3. Type your code into the "Enter your code" box under Redemption Code and press Apply.

"Coupon activated successfully" means it worked. "Failed to activate coupon" is usually a typo, so check the code character by character and try once more. If it still refuses, contact us and quote the code.

Activate an offer

Offers sit below the code box on the same tab. Each card names the campaign, shows a Premium or Max pill, says how long it runs, and shows how many places have gone. Press Activate and a toast confirms it.

When an offer matches your account, an amber banner also appears at the top of New Application reading "Claim your {duration} free {tier}". Claim there does the same job as the card, and claiming once is enough.

A card reading Not available gives its reason underneath, and the reason tells you whether anything can change it:

  • "Only available with a university email address." and "Only available for selected email domains." depend on the address on your account, which you can edit on the Account tab unless you signed in with Google.
  • "Not available with your current plan." wants you on a different plan.
  • "You have already activated this offer." and "No seats left for this offer." are final.

What changes

Your plan pill updates and the locked features open. Check Subscription: your current plan now carries a Granted pill and a date its access runs to, and Billing History stays at "No invoices yet." because a granted plan is never billed to you.

Watch that date. When it passes your account returns to Starter (free) unless you subscribe, and an offer running out halfway through an application is a nasty surprise. Since the cards show how many places are left, take one you qualify for rather than saving it for a quieter week.
