A student's primary resume
Open and download the one resume a student has marked as primary, one at a time or as a cohort export, and deal with an empty tab.
A student can build several resumes and marks one of them as primary. That is the one the portal shows you, and the only one you can download.
Open one student's resume
- Open My Students and click the student's row.
- Choose Primary Resume from the pill tabs along the top.
- Read the resume in the panel, then press Download to save a copy.
Rows open for students who hold, or have held, a paid seat. A Starter student's row gives you a Premium required prompt instead; see View students and grant Premium.
If the tab is empty
When a student has not chosen one, the tab reads No Primary Resume with "This student has not set a primary resume yet." Early in the year that is common: they have signed up and built nothing yet, or built several and marked none of them.
Only the student can fix it, from their own account. Nothing in the portal changes which resume is primary, and you cannot edit what is in it. Point them at What a primary resume is and ask them to set one.
Export the whole cohort
- Open My Students.
- Open the Export dropdown.
- Under Export resume, choose Export all primary resume, or the current-batch version to limit it to the batch in the top-bar pill.
Students with no primary resume contribute nothing, so expect fewer resumes than names on your roster. The Export CSV options in the same menu cover applications and job history if you need those alongside.
Tips
- Read the Primary Resume tab before a one-to-one. It is the quickest view of where a student has got to.
- For what to advise, the Key Gaps section on their Analytics tab says more than the resume does.
- Ask students to refresh their primary resume at the start of term, so a cohort export is worth having.
