What the organisation portal is
Batches, seats and the whitelist in plain terms, what each of the five sidebar sections does, and how much of a student's work you can see.
The organisation portal is where your careers team allocates seats, watches how a cohort uses FirstResume, answers upgrade requests and posts your own vacancies. It has its own login, separate from the student app.
Everything sits inside a batch
A batch is one purchased cohort: a tier, a number of seats, a start date, an end date and a name you can change. Your organisation may hold several, one per programme or per intake. The portal shows one batch at a time, so the roster, the seat counts and the requests on screen all belong to whichever batch the switcher is set to. See Sign in and switch between batches.
Two more words carry most of the meaning. A seat is one student's entitlement under a batch, counted as Signed Up, Allocated and Total. The whitelist is the list of email addresses entitled to a seat: adding an address allocates one, and the student claims it when they sign up with that address.
When a batch period ends, every student under it drops back to Starter and loses Premium features such as advanced analytics and resume downloads. Arrange a renewal with your account manager before the end date rather than after it.
The five sections
- Analytics opens the dashboard. The sidebar says Analytics, the page header says Overview, and both point at the same screen. See Read the analytics dashboard.
- My Students is the roster: search, export, open a student, hand out paid seats. See View students and grant Premium.
- Whitelist is where seats are allocated. See Manage the whitelist.
- Premium Requests holds students who have asked to be upgraded. See Handle premium requests.
- Job Posts puts your own vacancies on your students' job board. See Post jobs for your students.
Under them sit a collapse toggle and the profile row marked Admin, whose menu holds Settings and Sign Out.
What you can see about a student
For a student who holds, or has held, a paid seat, you can open their Profile, Job Preferences, Analytics, Applications, Job History and Primary Resume. You can read all of it and change none of it.
A student on Starter gives you their row on the roster and nothing more. Click that row and a Premium required prompt opens offering to grant them a seat, which catches most people out the first time.
Tips
- The portal has no separate roles. Everyone who signs in sees the same five sections.
- The tier word on buttons follows the batch, so a Max batch reads Grant Max.
- Your licence, your batches and your API keys live in the settings dialog; see Organisation settings and API access.
