Research the company
Get an AI briefing on the employer behind one application: products, culture, leadership, market position and recent news, with its sources.
The Research tab holds a briefing on the employer for this one application: what they sell, how they describe working there, who runs the place, and what has been written about them lately. Read it before the cover letter and before an interview.
Two things that stop it
Company research is Premium. On Starter the tab shows a blurred preview behind a card reading "Company research is a Premium feature", with View subscription. See pricing.
It also needs a company named in the advert you pasted. Where the advert named none, the tab reads "No company name was found in the job description, so company research is unavailable for this application", and that is the end of it for that job. If you want the briefing, add the application again from a version of the advert that names the employer.
Generate it
- Open the application and select the Research tab.
- Press Generate company research, under "Get an AI-powered company overview, including culture, leadership, news, and market position."
- Give it about a minute. It reads "Sit tight, we are generating your company research!"
On Premium the research often starts on its own when you add the job, so the tab may be full before you get to it. A failure shows "We couldn't generate company research" with Try again.
What you get
Overview with Founded in, Headquarters, Number of employees, Website and Glassdoor Rating, then Product and Services, Company Culture, Key People and Company Leadership. Market Position carries Competitors, Stage and Hiring trend. Growth Signals and News close it out.
Check it before you quote it
Press View Sources beside the Company Research heading to see what the briefing was built from. The tab carries the note "* AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. Please verify the information and report any errors you find."
Confirm anything specific against the company's own site before it goes in a cover letter or comes out of your mouth in an interview. A wrong funding round or a departed chief executive costs you more than saying nothing.
Tips
- Generate this before the cover letter and the outreach emails. Both offer Include company research, and the box is greyed out while there is nothing to draw on.
- News and Growth Signals are the sections an interviewer notices. One recent, accurate detail beats a paragraph of praise.
- Company Culture is how the company describes itself. Read Glassdoor for the other account.
