Run an AI mock interview
Answer your application's questions out loud to an AI interviewer on camera, two minutes an answer, and get a scored report at the end.
The AI mock interview is a full-screen session where an AI interviewer reads out questions from your Interview tab, you answer on camera, and a scored report follows. Run it once your prep is written and you want to hear yourself say the words.
Before you start
You need Premium. On Starter (free) there is no upgrade prompt to click, because AI Mock Interview and Practice history are absent from the Interview tab altogether. See Understand your plan and credits.
You also need questions on that tab. The session offers those and nothing else, so add any you want to rehearse first. See Prepare with the Interview tab.
Use a desktop computer with a working camera and microphone, in a current Chrome or Edge. There is no mobile version and no typed mode.
Set up the session
- Open the application, press the Interview tab, then the black AI Mock Interview pill marked (Beta).
- Read the Instructions on the welcome screen and press Next.
- Every question from the tab is listed and ticked under "Select the questions you want to practice". Untick what you do not want. Nothing caps how many you keep. Press Next.
- On Test your device, allow camera and microphone when your browser asks. If a line reads "Camera unavailable — check your browser permissions", fix the permission in your browser and press Restart device.
- Press Begin. It stays disabled until camera and microphone are both granted.
Answering
Take as long as you like before each question. The Cheat sheet on the right carries its Explanation, Key Touch Points and Sample Response; if it is blank, press Generate under "Need some help?".
Press Begin and you get a five-second countdown, then the interviewer reads the question aloud, then the chip turns to Recording. Speak. Your words appear in the transcript as you go, under a clock counting to 02:00.
Two minutes is a hard cap. At 02:00 your answer saves itself and you see "Time limit reached (2 min) — your answer was saved." Press Done Answering to stop sooner, Retry to record that answer again from scratch, then Next question. The last question offers View report instead.
Skip question in the footer throws away whatever you had recorded for that question, and the question never appears in your report. End interview takes you straight to the report with the answers you have given so far.
Then comes "Analysing your performance" and "Your report will be ready in 1 - 2 minutes, please do not close this window." Leave the tab alone until the report loads. Read your interview report covers what the scores mean.
Tips
- There is no pause, so close the door and silence your phone before step 5.
- Two minutes goes faster than it reads. Open with your point, then one example.
- "Microphone access was denied. Please allow it in your browser to record." means the browser blocked you, not the app. Allow the microphone in your site settings and start again.
