Turn a listing into an application
Add to Applications is the only action on a job board posting. It starts a tracked application and it is how you reach the employer's original advert.
The board has no Apply button and no link out to the employer. Add to Applications gets you both halves of what you are after: a tracked application that FirstResume starts preparing, and the original advert waiting inside it.
Add the job
- Click the job so the posting opens on the right, then look at the bar fixed to the bottom of that pane. It is headed Start preparing your application and notes "You can access the original job post after adding."
- Press Add to Applications. The button changes to Added and a message confirms "Your new application is ready on My Application page".
- Click the next card and add that one too. A message reads "Adding 2 applications…" while they are built, and each confirms on its own. Added stays put on anything you have already added, so you cannot create the same application twice in one sitting.
The "?" beside the heading explains the same thing in the app: adding starts the tracking and lets you view the original post, run a compatibility analysis, research the company and tailor your resume.
Where the job ends up
Open Applications from the sidebar and the job is there as its own application, opening on Job Summary. The link to the employer's advert sits on that tab, so that is where you go when you are ready to apply on their site. Compatibility, company research and a tailored resume come from the same workspace. See Add a job to your applications for what to do with it.
Tips
- Adding does not use one of your monthly searches. Take as many as you want from one set of results.
- Add the job before you leave the board. The original link is reachable from the application and nowhere else.
- Check Visa Sponsorship and Key Skills on the posting first, so you only prepare roles you would take. See Search the job board.
